Claremont staff come up with novel way to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice
Claremont staff Joanne Roebuck and Laura Penn have come up with a novel way to raise money for the hospital’s chosen charity of the year St Luke’s Hospice - a sponsored weight loss.
Both ladies have been wanting to lose weight and were lacking motivation, until they decided the ultimate motivation would be to do it for an amazing cause.
The challenge is for Laura and Joanne to EACH lose a stone (14lbs) in weight in just 8 weeks. If BOTH ladies lose 2 stone in total by their final weigh in on Monday 13 July, they are set to raise hundreds of pounds for the city’s hospice providing care to people with incurable/terminal illnesses.
Joanne said “We’ve both seen our GPs and have been given the go ahead. We’re ready for the challenge and will let you know how we get on ASAP.”
Laura said “When you see the St Luke’s name on the sponsorship form closely followed by pledge amounts from all your friends, family and colleagues – it has given us all the motivation we need.”
