Claremont appoint GP Relations Manager

Claremont Hospital has appointed a GP Relations Manager as part of a strategic strengthening of its business development team.

Laura Penn, who has many years experience in the private healthcare sector, previously worked at Nuffield Health's Leicester Hospital as Head of Marketing and GP and Consultant Relations.

She joins the Sandygate Road private hospital as new owners Aspen Healthcare embark on an ambitious investment and growth programme.  Laura said: “I am delighted to be joining Claremont Hospital at such an exciting time and look forward to working closely with Sheffield GPs and consultants.”

A multi-million pound investment programme at the 44-bed hospital has been announced by Aspen and includes new medical and surgical equipment as well as a rolling refurbishment programme.

Claremont Director Andy Davey, who previously ran Nuffield Health’s Leicester Hospital, said: "I have worked with Laura in the past and am really looking forward to working together again.”

“She will strengthen an excellent business development team at Claremont as we embark on this exciting new chapter in the hospital’s history."

Claremont has also announced its Commercial Director Damian Stothard is to take up the position of Group Purchasing Director of Aspen Healthcare.

Maintaining his base at the Sandygate Road private hospital, 34-year-old Damian, who lives in Sheffield, brings to his new role a decade and a half’s experience working in procurement, including several years in the health sector.

Said Damian: “This is an exciting time to explore new opportunities at Claremont Hospital with the investment and development programme underway. It is inspiring to be part of an organisation that is forward thinking and proactive about growth.”
