Mr Wale Olarinde, Claremont ENT Surgeon visits West Africa
Mr Wale Olarinde, Consultant ENT Surgeon at Claremont Private Hospital will be joining a team of other surgeons, anaesthetists and nurses from the UK Forum of the West African College of Surgeons, on a surgical outreach to the republic of Togo, West Africa between the 4th and 9thof March 2013.
This is the 3rdoutreach organised by the forum, previous ones being Calabar, Nigeria and Monrovia, Liberia and is usually held a week before the annual conference of the West African College of Surgeons. Johnson and Johnson Medical UK have kindly provided medical consumables.
The outreach will be based in Centre Hospitalier D’Aneho (The Aneho Hospital) and the Slyvanus Olympio teaching hospital in Lome. The team from the UK have liaised with a local organising committee in Lome to perform surgical procedures on patients free of charge during the week. The team will also provide relevant surgical/nursing training.
