Meet the Claremont Managers

Andrew Thornton, Hospital Director
Andrew joined Aspen Healthcare as Claremont Hospital Director in January 2018.  Andrew looks forward to continuing with the hospital's multi-million pound investment programme and has held various Director posts within the public and private sector including Nuffield Health and Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.  

Carol Jones, Director of Nursing & Clinical Services
Carol became Director of Nursing & Clinical Services at Claremont in May 2013 and is responsible for quality governance and all things clinical. Carol is a qualified nurse with over 20 years’ experience in the private sector holding roles in Nottingham, North Staffordshire and now enjoying her return to Sheffield.

Nicola Manton, Hotel Services Director
Nicola has worked at Claremont since 2004, her key responsibilities consist of hotel services, administration and the health & safety of the hospital. Nicola is an accredited World Host Facilitator delivering customer service training to staff. Nicola previously managed student accommodation for the city’s students.

Richard Lee, Finance Director
Richard joined Claremont in 2014, he is responsible for the financial strategy & governance of the hospital.
He previously spent over 8 years working as Finance Manager within Nuffield Health, Circle & the NHS. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts.

Laura Penn, Business Development & Relations Manager
Laura joined the Claremont team in September 2012 and is responsible for all aspects of marketing, PR, business development and managing relationships with GPs, Consultants and corporate companies. Laura has worked in private healthcare for many years, previously undertaking this role within Nuffield Health.

Dora Eko, Pharmacy Manager
Dora has been Pharmacy Manager at Claremont since 2006 and this is her first role within private healthcare. Her previous roles as Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager have been NHS hospital and community-pharmacy based. Dora’s key responsibility is the provision of pharmacy services, which she delivers along with her team.

Alison Hicks, Administration Manager
Alison has been a valued member of the Claremont team for 20 years and has worked in every department within the hospital. She has built up a vast knowledge of the hospital and it's day to day functions. She is also one of Claremont's in-house World Host facilitators. Alison has seen many changes over the years at Claremont and is excited to now be part of Aspen Healthcare.

David Bell, Ward Manager
David has worked at Claremont since 2005. He manages the ward, day case unit and the pre-operative assessment team. David has a Masters Degree in Advanced Nursing Practice and is also an accredited World Host customer service facilitator.

Ron Davis, Theatre Manager
Ron joined Claremont in 2016. He has 34 years' experience working in theatres and healthcare most recently as Theatre Manager with Spire Healthcare in Worcester. He spent 8 years in the Royal Army Medical Corps, 10 years with BMI, four years at Queens Hospital and 10 years with Ramsay Health Care UK. He is looking forward to bringing in some new ideas to help Claremont continue to be the hospital of choice for patients, staff and Consultants.

Robert Ward, Radiology Manager
Robert joined Claremont in April 2017. He has worked in the private sector for the last ten years, most recently managing the Diagnostic Imaging Department at a BMI Hospital. He is looking forward to the prospect of developing the Imaging Team and the Department, reaffirming relationships within the local sector and building upon Claremont's reputation as a hospital of choice in Sheffield and the surrounding area.

Will Banyard, Building Services Manager
Will has been leading the Building Services Department since 2014. Will is enjoying working in the independent sector for the first time. Will has overseen the transition of the department from Support Services to Building Services and is looking forward to the prospect of expanding and developing his team.

Dan Pearson, IT Manager
Dan began working as a Data Analyst at Claremont in 2009 and went on to become Senior Project Manager.  More recently, he became IT Manager and is responsible for the IT infrastructure of the hospital. Dan enjoys the variety that the role brings and overseeing the smooth running of all things IT-related. He has strong links with other Aspen Healthcare IT managers and continues to drive Claremont’s IT systems forward.

Heather MacPherson, Lead Nurse in Outpatients & Endoscopy
Heather joined Claremont in 2004 and has been in her current role as Lead Nurse in Outpatients since 2007.  Heather is responsible for overseeing outpatient clinics, endoscopy treatments and minor operations. As Lead Nurse, Heather provides support to consultants, patients and the clinical team. Heather is also the Infection Prevention Lead for the hospital.

Louise Bearder, Physiotherapy Manager

Louise joined the team in November 2015 from the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust where she specialised in orthopaedic lower limb rehabilitation and managed acute soft tissue injuries service. She is also experienced in private physiotherapy clinics treating a range of Musculoskeletal conditions. At Claremont, Louise is responsible for the inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy team, ensuring we offer a range of evidence based and affective physiotherapy interventions.

Bart Komuniecki, Head Chef
Bart has been a chef around the world for 20 years – the last nine of which has been as Head Chef in large corporate hotels. Bart joined Claremont from the four star Nottingham Belfry and is looking forward to maintaining the high standards of catering at Claremont and to carry on improving on the ethos that ‘Nutrition plays a key role in recovery.’

Amanda Foster, Stores Manager
Amanda joined the Claremont team in July 2017. Amanda has worked in the private healthcare sector for 15 years and has a wealth of experience in supply management. She worked for Ramsay healthcare UK for 13 years & HCA Healthcare UK for two years. She has managed implementing automated stock inventory systems. She is experienced in facilitating consumable standardisation and contract compliance working within budgets and she is looking forward to bringing in new ideas and processes for Claremont Hospital.

Nicola Ashworth, Guest Relations Manager
Nicola joined the Claremont team in November 2016 following a long standing and successful career with Transform. She will be overseeing our Private Patient Team and taking very good care of our patients ensuring they have a smooth journey with us from start to finish. Nicola loves meeting people and thrives on providing excellent customer service.
